Maybe you should check those first.

The factory service manual says this is either the O2 sensor or the fuel system. If the car is also running poorly, then per the manual the best guess is it is the fuel system. See http://media.honda.co.uk/car/owner/m.../pdf/11-74.pdf and go to the pages cited at the main site for the Civic.

Otherwise, try putting in a new OEM oxygen sensor.

i bought a brand new denso o2 sensor off ebay and it was for a gm and when i contacted the guy about it he said that it was the same as a honda 4 wire...

so i matched the wires up accordingly to the diagram. drove the car for a couple days before it started throwing this code

Sounds suspicious. Look up the correct Denso O2 sensor at www.densoproducts.com and see if the one you put in matches. Densoproducts.com and amazon.com tend to have the best prices for OEM-make oxygen sensors, BTW. Unfortunately since you have swapping going on, this is probably the last help I can offer. I searched honda-tech.com and "Code 43" sure comes up a lot, with much advice and an occasional solution offered. Good luck.
