D15b Vtec Timing...
...Ok I posted this in the "All Motor" section and couldn't get a straight answer
I've got a '89 crx w/jdm d15b vtec motor. I just finished the swap and Im trying to check the ignition timing.
I was told that the d15b block is identical to the d15z1 and the d15b head is identical to the d16z6. So my question is which specs should I time it to?
D16z6- 16* BTDC (RED) at 670 rpm
D15z1- 16* BTDC (RED) at 600 rpm
I know there isnt much of a difference besides the rpm but Ive got it timed to 16* BTDC @ 700 rpm and when i put it under a load (heater, lights, wipers, etc..) the timing goes to about 0* BTDC @ 700 rpm.
Does this sound right to anyone?
