Default oil pickup commonality?

acuraautomotiveparts.com has the ITR, GSR, and LS as the same part #. hondaautomotiveparts also has the b16 powered SI listed as the same # as the b20 powered CRV. I'm running a b20 pickup with Mugen ITR pan and it seem fine. More that adequate pressure. Someone tell if there's something i'm missing here. I was told that the pickup HAS TO MATCH the pan. True?
Thanks

Default Re: oil pickup commonality? (jg)

the pickup has to match the block.
b16a/b18a/b/20b/z use the same pickup and pan
b18c uses a different pickup and pan due to the main girdle.
