Just Bought an 02 Accord coupe V6
Well, traded in my 92 accord that I bought last September for a 2002 Accord EX V6.
Loving the car so far.
1) Anyways, I have a 3 month warranty on the thing.. so I figure I'll take it to a mechanic or Honda dealership to have it looked at closely. Find out if there are any warning signs on anything.. (does this sound like a good idea?)
2) I'm currently down in MD for Thanksgiving, but when I get back home, I plan to either get the car professionally detailed, or detail it myself. PA uses a TON of salt on roads... I want to protect the paint.
What products/procedures would you guys use to clean/protect both the paint/interior/engine bay. The bay though not filthy, shows a half assed cleaning job. Leather care? Clay/Wax?
This is the first time I've had a car worth really putting effort in to keep it looking 100%.
3) As far as future plans, I plan on tinting the windows for sure. Contemplating whether or not I should invest in springs/shocks. What are my options and how much do they usually run? Any wheel suggestions? If I was to buy wheels I'd prefer to not look like a douchebag. I'm looking for a clean look here.
4) Any general advice, or any comments would be appreciated.
Sorry this is the only pic I have right now.

Edit: The car is an Auto with 71k miles. Is there a guide to changing the transmission fluid? Sounds like it may be a good idea?

Congrats on the purchase.
Honda has a recall on the '98-'02 V6 transmission. They start slipping and then soon after that they give out. You might want to inspect your transmission and talk to your local Honda about that. You can flush out the trans fluid. Go with Honda ATF.
For the leather, I recommend using Meguiar's leather wipes.
For the exterior go with Mothers. Using a clay bar on your car will get rid of dirt and other containments.
After that use a sealer, and then apply wax.
Are you looking for OEM wheels or aftermarket wheels?
For cleaning the bay, just use simple green. Cover the spark plug wires, intake filter (if you have one), alternator and battery. Spray it on, use a brush to get that hard grime off. Then use a garden hose to take it all off. To dress the bay there is tire shine and armor all.
Hope this helps.

To elaborate.
I believe the recall is only 99-02 and is up to 150k miles now.
Leather cleaner I have used ArmorAll Cleaning wipes and leather treatment.
Exterior any clay bar is fine just use a name brand and take your time - rinse, wash, clay, wash, rinse, wax
And you want a diluted 50/50 Simple Green Outdoors/water mix, straight Simple Green can damage your paint and 50/50 is more than sufficient.
And search.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to take the car to a Honda dealership when I can work it into my schedule, just to be safe.
I just talked to a service tech who ran the VIN and said there are no active recalls on the vehicle..
I'm definitely going to buy some transmission fluid and flush that. Are there directions on that? Or is it just... get under there, drop the plug, flush it out, put the cap back on with a new washer or whatever, and refill?

Also, as far as wheels go.. I'm open to either OEM or aftermarket wheels. The stock wheels aren't in TERRIBLE shape, but they aren't in great shape. Plenty of scuff marks.
I was thinking something along the lines of ASA AR1's or OEM Integra wheels. Something clean..

No, there is a special technique to flush the transmission fluid. You can drain it and then refill it, but that is not the correct way. There is a DIY on here that explains on how to do it.
Integra/Civic wheels will not fit. I think you have the 5x113 pattern and Integra wheels are 4 lug, well, except for the 5 lug Itr wheels.
