Default d16zc dual cam?

I'm thinking of swapping a d16zc into my '88 CRX.

My friend told me that there are two d16zc models; the dual cam and the single cam. If that really is the case, what is the exact engine name (or code) for the dual cam version; I'm definitely down to go dual if the zc comes in dual.

And do normal d series mounts (like the stock ones from my 88 crx si) work for the d16zc?

I'm searching all over the net; can't seem to find a definite answer.

Thanks for the help!

hey buddy its just a ZC. you might be thinking of a d16a1 which is in ways like the zc, yes the zc comes in dohc and sohc. and you can use your stock mounts to drop it in.
both dohc and sohc say ZC for engine code i believe.

that is true. both engines say ZC stamped on the block. i own a sohc zc. more or so its personal preference. the only way im going to a dohc motor is if its an h22/23 with a d series trans.

Does dohc zc come in vtec?

dohc is dual cam and sohc is single cam, right?

no, dohc is non vtec, although the sohc has a vtec and non vtec variation. non vtec is essentially a d16a6, and vtec zc is essentially a d16z6. power outputs are damn near the same.

dohc zc and sohc zc are stamped 'zc' thats it. no d16, cause all zc are 1.6 anyways.

if you want a good torque go with the dohc.
if you want a more even power go with the sohc.

the only d series engines that have a different stamp that are dohc are the euro version of it. i had a dohc d16a8 and i loved it. took a stock gsr and a ef with a gsr motor in it. i had the zc trans also though. i think it has like 8hp less than the jdm dohc zc

the d16a8 and the jdm are the same thing. there is no difference at all just the cover.
actually the d16a8 should have 137 hp with out cat wail the jdm zc only has 132hp with out the cat.
