Hi i have just fitted a ek B16b civic type r engine into a 91 eg sir.Im just wondering can i use the type r engine loom or do i have to use the eg loom and get a converter for the ecu conector.

eg's are 92-95

you use your stock engine harness and add the vtec, vtec pressure and knock sensor wires and run then to the ecu

get a chipped obd1 vtec ecu with a b16b base map

 

It is an eg and it is a 91 its a jap import.I have the sir eg loom so i was going to use that and get a wiring converter to use the ek type r ecu.
Do i also have to swap the distributor off the eg onto the ek engine.

 

EF = 1988-1991

EG = 1992-1995

Take your obd1 wiring, put it on the engine, add the wires.

 

JDM EG's started in 91, I have seen lots imported here... technically its a 91 & 1/2
