Default JDM front install picture set

worked alone, started at 6pm, finished at 9pm.

slight issue with the passenger headlight that i had with my red crx that i will later fix.
fogs still could use some tweaking, other than that it fits not too bad.

long story behind the red color, crx will be painted in the summer likely, im probably going with silver.

but this should show what you have to strip off to install the front end

the T bar i bought was from the UK off ebay, its for a 90/91 1.5x EF7 with the factory SIR style front end, the T bar from this model allows the hood to shut without modification to the latch or the T bar. you can see the difference from the pictures.

then....

then....

then....

that headlight picture closeup is actually showing the issue with fitment, the inside of the headlight is pushed in too far and needs to be shimmed outward to fit right, the other side fits perfect.

What side skirts are those in the first red CRX? I want a set. Maybe they're just brand new stock skirts, but they look alot better.

It would be cool if you went into more detail about the panal swapping, but meh, its not rocket science.

Glad you are OK, what happened to the red one? What is the situation about the wreck?
Was the red rex swapped? What are your motor plans?

the swap is actually really straight forward, took me 3 hours total to remove all the origional parts and install all the jdm parts.

the red one was taken away and crushed, i kept as much as i could.
the red crx has a dohc zc turbo - si tranny with a hardcore unsprung pucked clutch and act flywheel. the motor before it was pulled dynod 170whp with a stock zc.

the powerplant from the red crx will be swapped into this new car, and the si motor from this crx will go to my winter beater 4dr ef.

That's because their not US headlights. He swapped the JDM ones over as well.

the stock bumper support was removed at the same time as the bumper cover (removed them as one piece)

the jdm bumper comes with a metal frame that replaces the stock bumper support, its very thin and light.

not good for accidents, but good for saving weight!
its basically just a small skeleton made of metal that allows the bumper to bolt to the crx.
basically every single jdm bumper comes with this support, they are not meant to be removed.

the red bracket on the front that the bumper bolts to has a story as well.
the green one would have worked just fine and the jdm bumper would have bolted to it perfectly, the reason i saved the old red one is for the fog lights. the support brackets had to be modified to let the fog light brackets bolt up properly.

if you look at the last picture with the bumper off you can see the fog light brackets.

Coming along nicely man! At least you're getting the face-lift out of the way first! Nice tires on those wheels too!

..real sorry about your red CRX, the picture of the collision hurts me just looking at it. Good luck man!

I am planning on doing a JDM front end for my CRX. And wanted to know if, you need to get the JDM socket and bulb for the SiR front corner amber turn signals (wrap around ones)? Or can you use the USDM socket and bulbs on the JDM bumper.

On your bumper support brackets, did you have to put spacers or washers behind them to push it out? Where I got my sir front from the guy told me you have space the bumper support bracket 5/16's off the radiator support. Thanks!!
