Default timming belt slippage?

SO i was driving to my friends, my car starts to misfire, it had happened to me before a while ago, and it was a loose plug wire...I tightened all of them, didnt work...I changed the plug wire...It got better...then I went to pick up my friend, and everytime I step on it, it starts misfiring, if I dive slowly and dont step on the gas, more than 1/4 down, its all right, so whys is doing this? Im thinking its that the timming belt slipped or something?

no, it doesn't sound like a missing timing belt. does it only act up during acceleration? it may be your distributor or cap. check your ignition and fuel setup. do you get a cel? what mods do you have or what have you recently changed?

It could be just about anything from a marginal coil to a dirty fuel filter or clogged injectors. Like themi6group asked, have you changed anything recently?

Doesn't sound like a slipped T-belt, though. If it were, you'd notice it ALL the time.

If your fuel filter is still original, change it. Its old as hell. It is the most neglected filter. Check your plugs. If it looks fouled I would check ignition system. If it looks like its been leaner than normal try fuel system. If the plugs are older than dirt, change those too. Does the car get much in the way of preventative maintenance? If any of these are the cause maybe you should do a service.
