Hye guys, I figured this would be the best place to ask this. I need to remove the springs from my 03' R1 shocks, and I was just wondering how to, and if it's even possible to without special tools. I have never dealt witha a shock like this before, so I want to make sure I do it right, thanks.
Not sure with your shock, but on my old yz125 changing the spring wasn't too bad. You need to loosen the preload all the way, compress the spring, and then at the bottom of the shock there is the spring retainer and a big c-clip. Pull out the clip and the retainer, and the spring would come right out.
Btw, why do you have 4 rear shocks?
