Default muffler silencer

I just bought a 1994 accord that had an aftermarket exhaust, which was awesome...until I got pulled over. $128 later, I now have a deep fear if I ever pull up next to a cop. I love my car, and after paying the money to buy it I really don't have any extra cash for a brand new...stock...exhaust system to put back in, and had questions about these muffler silencers I hear about. I know they don't totally silence them, and though Washington state laws are ridiculously strict, I hope that just a simple silencer could suffice. Anyone have any good links to websites that have them for sale? Or just any other alternatives for me? Thanks for any help.

Find an OEM Muffler for the equivilent year EX and have it installed. The muffler flows better than the non-EX versions and includes those twin outlets. Add a couple of chrome tips and your golden. It's either that or a $500+
Apexi WSll Stainless system......
They (Police) are getting serious about noise ordinances.
Stay away from flow-thru (Glasspack) designs. they don't silence anything.

I know that would be the SMARTEST choice, but I literally am OUT of cash and need something a little cheaper than a full install of a new part to my muffler.

The "no cash" doesn't leave much wiggle room.
The thing is that the muffler has two hanger brackets which allow it to be supported which kind of limits the list of mufflers that would work.
You MIGHT luck out and find one for close to nothing in a salvage yard or maybe you could scoff the one off your grandma's car.... :-)

thrush (made by walker) turbo style muffler, or a magnaflow or dynomax (dynomax is also walker, and they make good stuff).

the thrush is the least expensive fyi, $20-30

It offers good performance, and is a lot quieter than the fart can. Unload it on ebay or craigslist.

When I had the Grand Am (3400v6) I used a muffler off a Grand Prix GTX on it and sold the other for $40... a steal for a full stainless muffler. THe GP GTX is a GTP tuned by SLP performance, 280hp. The junkyard one had an engine fire, I think caused by an accident. Shame, as they're pretty sweet rides, for wrong wheel drive standards.

You could always find a silencer insert for your size of outlet, if not i guess you could make your own insert of sort but do not recommend it. Look on CL find one cheap.
