restore/polish my Mugen M7s?
i tried to see if i could polish the rims myself. i did a little section of the outter lip, sanded it and used some mothers aluminum polish and that spot came out nice. but the rim itself i took to a place and they said they couldn't polish it because its raw aluminum. I tried to sand a little section of the rim but it looked like it didn't phase it at all.. so wtf do i do? get em chrome plated? im stumped
the only issue i can see with polishing or chroming these wheels is the mugen emblem on the spokes. removing them is hard. you need to carefully trim them off w/ a razor blade then when reapplying it you need to use very very thin double sided tape.
imo m7 only looks good in stock anodized polish, full polished or chrome. there is a sticky on the top of this forum on hor to polish your own wheels. if after using the aircraft stripper and factory stock anodize does not come off than just keep sanding.
