car moving too slow
i have an 2003 honda civic coupe ex. its an automatic. for some reason when i drive my car and when i stop and let go of the brake it should move foward. my car for some odd reason it moves exxtremely slow. any explanation? thanks
Hmm, I have the same problem on my 2002 Civic auto sedan. So, either of you gentlmen want to explain just whats wrong with our cars? Other cars iv driven will go much faster when i let go of the brake but my civic doesnt move at all most of the time, and if it does move its very slowly as oppsed to a decent speed the other cars do.
wow ... some of these people don't know how to read.
They're not complaining about the car being fast, they're complaining that while at stop the car barely moves when the brake is let off, even though it's in drive. Most auto cars tend to accelerate a bit on their own when doing this.
I don't have any good reason for the problem, but i've noticed it in almost every auto honda i've ever driven. WIth that said, it's not really a problem at all .. probably just the way they're set up from the factory.
you could probably adjust the throttle cable a bit, since i know hondas are known to have a bit of slack from the factory anyway. unless your car is drive by wire ... which i'm not sure of since i usually stay in the sub 2000 range when working on cars.

i have heard thoes cars have problems with the throttle position sensors and i think sometimes they need to replace the whole trottle body. i think they are in the technical service bulletins.

it's purposely set up like that to save gas...when the car is at idle rpm while in gear, the rpm's are set to be as low as possible (without stalling).
