Suggestions for my 93 accord...
Honestly I don't really care about the looks that much for my car. I want to target improving the handling, and reliability of the vehicle. I have a 93 accord LX w M/T. I got the car when it was not running, I've been catching up on maintenance stuff ever since. Replacing broken door handles, spark plugs, gaskets, exhaust parts, etc etc... anybody have suggestions for how to make the reliability of the vehicle better? Like if someone can suggest better batteries, an optional generator that outputs more amps, would an engine grounding kit help improve combustion/mileage?? That's the kind of tips I'm looking for.
I have kind of a plug on performance parts, but right now I'm not looking for that kind of stuff ... not with this car anyway. I have an old Prelude I'm going to make performance mods to.

How many miles are we talking?
Over 200K, swap. Under, give it a good "top-to-bottom" with new seals, gaskets, belts, etc. and a nice sea foam treatment.
To improve handling, replace those worn factory shocks with a nice gas setup. KYB makes a great shock at a decent price. Throw a set of sport springs at it if you like.
Do those things and you'll feel a whole new car.... for WELL under a grand.

Yeah, she just ticked 200K not long ago maybe a month ago. The motor doesn't feel THAT tired, but maybe it's just cause I'm "used to it" or something. It's not that I want it to ride like its on rails or anything. I just want to restore some "newness" to the feel of driving it. Lowered springs would probably be too stiff for the feel I want. I think the idea of some crispy new gas struts would be good though. And maybe a little less sidewall on my tires would be cool too. I'll have to check the catalogs I have. Maybe I can sell myself something at cost and beat online auction site costs. lol
