Default tranny problems

if i need to post this somewhere else please let me know! just want to get this bad boy running again!

i have a 90 ef with a 91 motor that was put in before i bought it. pretty sure it was an automatic, seems as the 90 auto tranny was on there. before due to the problems of the (90 model have over heating problems)
any way swapped it to si manual put new clutch fly wheel, on and now the clutch doesn't want to engage when i push the petal down. only back pressure is the small spring on the pedal assembly!
thought the fly wheel may be on backwards but after looking at another ef with 4 speed seems as it is on the right way.
anyone have any suggestions. or have this happen before?

Nope, sounds impossible. The cable must be adjusted too TIGHTLY!!! Check the clutch cable. Loosen it (OUTSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION ON THE CLUTCH RELEASE FORK), keep tightening it little by little until the clutch pedal finally has no play in it, or, according to manuals, 4mm of play, but whatever. No play is better I think, JUST DON'T OVERDO IT, that's probably your issue from what it sounds like, the clutch is probably just NOT ENGAGING at all.

Hold on, so you're saying that there's NO resistance when you push on the pedal? Yet, you said you have it on right? Did you put the throwout bearing in when you did the swap? My friend forgot that once. Make sure you have your throwout bearing installed!
