98 accord vibration
I have a 98 honda accord and it has started to vibrate a little in the steering column and can feel it a little in the floor on my feet. It gets louder the faster I go, but when I stick my head out of the car, I don't hear anything unusual. If I am turning left, the vibration goes away completely. I am taking it in to get looked at but wanted to get an idea of what might be the problem. Thanks in advance.
You hear the vibration? Generally you just feel vibrations. Does it vibrate worse under acceleration? Does it go away on deceleration?
If a vibration goes away when turning one direction or another, if it comes and goes with load (accel/decel), the first thing I check is the axles. If it is a bad axle, it's extremely difficult to isolate the axle that is causing the problem. It's usually better to just replace both axles.

Grab the axle just next to the inner CV Joint and shake it, by shaking both of them and if only one is bad, you should know which on is bad, hope its only one loose CV Joint. Change the whole axle though.
You may have a bad L/side hub bearing.
When you turn left, you unload the suspension (remove weight) and the vibration diminishes. If it gets more pronounced when you turn right, there's your confirmation cuz MORE weight is applied to the L/S Hub bearing.
You can sometimes find it by raising the front suspension and either grabbing the tire top / bottom and see if you can rock it in / out. You can also let the tire spin with the car idling in 1st (AGAIN RAISED :-) ). if you have a bearing issue, you'll be able to feel the vibration thru the lower control arm.
