Mark 4 JDM H22A 4WS Prelude Rear Suspension - parts required for an overhaul
Hi there people I would appreciate some much needed help.
My rear left axle I think is bent / castor out of spec. I say, this because the wheel looks like it's been physically pushed back towards the bumper so much that I can't run my hand round it.
As such this has worn out the bearing and I have decided to bite the bullet and invest some time and money to sort out and revamp both rear axles meaning out with he old and in with the new. I plan to replace the old suspension components, preferably for uprated parts if applicable but not the shocks and springs, which I will be doing at a later stage.
I have already purchased a pair of wheel bearings and the energy suspension complete bushing set which I plan to use to replace the stock bushings on the new parts.
I also know that the rear axles have a lower control arm per side as well as an upper suspension arm per side. What complicates my matters more is that I did a search on ebay for a lower control arm and I noticed a few parts which look strange to me and I have no idea whether they replace existing parts or are something additional. I'm talking about the Skunk2 rear lower arm bar which looks nothing like the standard lower control arm and was wondering whether this part is a additional part that makes the suspension stronger or something.
Basically I need to know what parts the the rear axles are made up of, ie.., control arms, ball joints, stabaliser bar, etc.,. So far my list of parts is:
1.) Rear wheel bearing / hub x 2
2.) Energy Suspension Hyperflex kit
3.) Lower control arms x 2 (i will replace the bushes with the energy bushes)
4.) Upper control arms x 2
The skunk2 lower arm bar that is advertised on ebay looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SKUNK...Q5fAccessories
I have also noticed a part similar to the skunk2 part which looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...Q5fAccessories
I am curious to know what these are for and what other parts I need for a total overhaul for the rear.
Your help is much appreciated!

Those arms actually are not the lower control arms. those are a replacement arm if you don't have a steering rack in the back. SO if you don't have 4ws you have these.

Your prelude doesn't have part 24/27. and that is what those skunk 2 bars replace. Your prelude has a steering rack. Those bars actually will control your toe more then anything.
Part 21/26 is the lower control arm.
You might want to look at 28/29 and check that those bushings are still good and that the bar is attached.

kulrevon, the skunk2 bar is just a brace bar nothing else. it does not conrtol toe. It is like a megan or dc brace. The megan toe arms are what will help adjust toe but like i previously stated do not work with a 4ws car. Hawks2.3 did a write up and according to him those arms are great and actually allow you to set the toe much easier.
asking because I just ordered a set for my Prelude...
