Icon6 DA integra with 13" wheels? Hmmmmm.

I'm in the works of bodyslamming the 20 inch tall MT slicks that i'm currently running in exchange for some 24.5 tall 13" wheel slicks (Not sure which one's yet). I'm only doing it for three reasons:

1) S1 trans has no 5th gear with Richmond spool (after not having reverse, then I got it "fixed" and now it has no 5th. I don't get it, and hopefully it'll be okay.)
2) Want to go through the lights in 4th gear instead of 5th (No 5th anyhow, LOL)
3) Let's face it, better traction with nitrous

Anyhow, I can't seem to get a clear idea of which wheel is preferable for my application since I have stock front suspension and brakes (DA Integra = 90-93 Integra).

I've heard about a wheel called a "Lenso." Uhhh? I was wondering if there was a Rota wheel that I could use, such as the J-mag or the RB, but I don't know which offset to get. I would think that the Rota option would be cheaper.

Can someone please shed some light on my situation. Thanks in advance.

The exospeed/lenso wheel would be nice for ya! I'm sure Wil will be chiming in soon on them

They are VERY cost effective

Exospeeds will fit i think you need a 5/16" spacer
and also bogarts fit with the spacers as well

What about Rota's?

I want to get some more options in front of me before I make a decision.

lenso's are 7.5" wide. rota's are 6.5"?thats be a streatch putting a 9" wide tire on that wheel. (please correct me if i am wrong) if you get the bogarts, chances are the spacer will be integrated in the wheel.

I'm going with the 24.5x8.0-13 tire size.

I just don't know what kind of offset i'll need to clear the factory brakes. This is a non-GSR integra.

As a DA owner, I can tell you that your best bet is to go with the lenso wheels from exospeed. They are a nice wheel at a good price point. And if you use either welds, bogarts, spinworks or lensos, you will need a small spacer with the factory calipers. The front end of the DA as far as brakes are just like to ex civics and dc's, so anyone that has a set of 13's on either car, can tell you you'll need a spacer.

Where do I get this spacer? How thick?

Also, check out post #3 in the thread presented within this thread:

I don't get it. I agree with you, but how is it that post #3 can make these claims.

I ran 13" lenso's over my DA integra brakes this summer with no spacer at all and it was fine..DA calipers are a slightly different shape than DC/EG/EK brakes and will clear.

What offset were they? What tire did you run, and how did it look on the car as far as "sticking out" or whatever?

Very interesting. Thanks for posting.

there's pictures all throughout that thread on different cars. We've sold 100s of these wheels for about 8-9 years. Alot have used them on DAs, DC, EF, EG, EK chassis. They will fit fine as long as its OEM calipers and rotors(except ITR calipers). The spoke design was made to specifically clear OEM calipers.

Offset is +25. It will stick out about 1-2 inches out of the fender. the Rim really just sticks out about an 1" but with the fat sidewall of a slick, it'll look more. Most slick sizes will clear without a spacer. In some cases with certain slick sizes, such as those 9" wide tires that actually have a contact patch of 11", you need to put a spacer so it doesnt rub on the inside fender wall.

not a DA, but you can see how far they stick out on a regular fender on these pictures.

Here's another good angle to show how far they stick out.

Well if that's the case, how about an 8 inch wide slick? Will the 8 wide clear where the 9 wide won't? Is the tire clearance issue more so impacted by the diameter of the tire also? I mean, for example, perhaps a 23 tall slick will clear for sure. Never had this big of a tire on my car yet, and i'm truly not sure which specific tire it will be. I am curious as to where to get such a spacer, and i'm curious as to how thick it will need to be. It's great that the 25 offset wheel will clear, but hopefully the tire will.

I'm really interested.

Lensos were the first drag wheel I used on my EG, I had 94+ GSR (DC2) brakes up front and they cleared fine. No issues what so ever... If you do run into an issue, use a small wheel spacer from an autozone/kragen/allparts. etc...

The CRX in the pic above is using a 23 X 8 X 13 slick with no spacer.

Here is a pic of my car with a 24.5 X 8.5 X 13 with no spacer and it doesnt hardly stick out at all.
