Default More axle problems!

After what I thought was a done job, the axle on the front passenger side rattles when going about 20-30 mph. When not accelerating, the engine shakes like it's about to fall out as the car is slowing down. Is the axle tight enough or not? There is like 1/8 inch space between the axle and the tranny left. I can't push the axle in anymore. Please anybody help, my car has been a jack stands for too long.

well when idleing the axle does not afeect it too much, have you checked your engine mounts? mine also has about an 1/8 inch it doens thave to be in snug just till it clicks in. sometimes its worth getting a proffesional to do it so you can get the car back on the road, take it somewhre where they can diagnose it, then you'll know if its something you can do. I think I'll take it to a shop only after I try to fix one last time.

Also, the teeth on the end where it goes into the transmission is all worn out. The axle is new and it's worn out already. Does this affect anything?
