Clunking noise coming from drivers side

Default Clunking noise coming from drivers side

so i went down to the beach yesterday and well i started to hear a clunking noise every now and then and well its getting worse so i was woundering what it could be its like the axle is spinning and getting stuck on something but the axle is fine i mean i can't find any type of grease or anything anywhere.. but could the axle still be broke? please help a.s.a.p.

YES you have a broken axle get it fixed asap or you will be sckrewed.. lol jk bro.. sounds like you have a bad cv joint which is actually part of the axle. just get a new axle from an autoparts store like trakauto or pepboys for like 60 bux plus your old core axle.. not that hard at all to replace either.. good luck

my friend said its by break pads because they make those noises when they are old.. but would it cause the car to shake up and down? and the axle looks fine.. is there anyway of telling if its broke without taking it all the way out?

you described the noise as clunking noise, not a screcking noise like brake pads sound like.. investigate more.. if its the cv boot or axle it would be hidden from plane sight.. dont know what to tell you but my first thought is that it was the axle or cv boot.. good luck either of them are very cheap and you can do yourself if you have the proper tools..

Check to see if your springs are not sitting right in their perches. that can also cause a noise like you are describing.
