Icon2 F20C heart in 77 MG MGB

Hi,

I am posting a question on here for a friend. I have been following the F20C swap threads in S500s and 800s and I love the work. When my friend told me he was doing it in an MGB i was excited because you usually see them have 5.0L V8 swaps.

He already has it mounted in the car but he has come across an issue he cant seem to get through the immobilizer as he does not have the original transponder key or center console...I cant remember the exact word he used but I believe this is his issue. If I am no mistaken he is going to still use his MG keys on the car.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

maybe a completly different aftermarket ECU to run your friends engine may be the only answer?

if i can get pictures i will post them up

and other then another ecu (are you talking about AEM EMS)...or is it possible to reflash it?...i know Hondata does a reflash for the F22C motor but im not sure for the F20C

the faster i get a response, the faster i can convince him to let me take pics to post up haha

P.S. Bozwell, what ignition system are you going to use? and how are u gonna incorporate the VTEC in it if you arent running an ecu?

K-pro should take care of it. http://www.hondata.com/s2000kpro.html

It's expensive, but it's pretty seamless. He could also use megaquirt, but I've never been a fan of it...

Megasquirt is awesome. It gives owners of less "common" vehicles huge options.
