Default 1994 Accord EX audio reciever question

Hi all,

So I'm wanting to install a Pioneer AVH-P6000DVD receiver or AVH-P4000DVD receiver but is this technically able to fit? I keep getting mixed answers so...

advice?
Thanks!

It should go ok.
You will need an installation kit for a double DIN chassis and an adapter for the car's harness, but all this should be known to your installer.
On the '96's and '97's, the lower map pocket comes out and with the oem DIN radio chassis out of the way; you have all manner of room.
I believe the '94's and '95's are the same.

Yeah I don't think they would be different considering they're from the same generation? Thanks!

I've often used these people. If your installer has difficulty finding some of this stuff...

Once again, your practically a lifesaver! One more question though, concerning future audio additions like speakers and such, is it wise to stick with the same brand name for amps and such?

thanks!

I just stick with National brands like Polk, Boston or even Kenwood will work.
Any Audio Emporium worth their salt will have an audio sample room for not only their Home Systems but their Automotive examples as well.
Make use of their facilities. There can be surprising differences in sound quality speaker to speaker.
If the car has stock provisions for tweeters (Most Honda's do), I'd go with a two-way speaker for OEM replacement locations and mount seperate tweeters. A Bass driver can be located anywhere (Bass is omni-directional) so just pick a spot out of the way.

Im lookin into puttin a Pioneer touch screen DVD/CD in my project!! I want in the dash like the pic, not fold out. But I heard that it should fit perfect. Seen it in a few hondas myself actually. And JL is also a good brand for amps, long with alpine and Rockford Fosgate.. Im into systems alot and have done of upgrades to mine. I have alpine Type S all around and two 10" MTX but im bout to get two 10" JL. And I have pioneer deck with JL amo for subs and Pioneer amp for alpine speaks... Sounds clean!!

Per www.crutchfield.com , the AVH-P4000DVD and the AVH-P5000DVD will fit, they didn’t have the AVH-P6000DVD listed.

If you want to add an amp, I would stick with the same brand but I don’t think that it would make a difference as to which speakers you get.

And do the installation yourself, not hard at all since you'll be using a kit. Use red butt connectors and a quality crimper and you'll be fine. Some will say to solder the wires but I can't tell a difference in sound quality (if you make good crimps). I'm not saying that it's bad to solder the wires, I'm just saying it's too much work and not necessary.
