Icon3 Make the ticking noise go away!

OK well heres the deal. Awhile back I replaced my DX intake manifold with an EX manifold. Ever since the swap, I hear a ticking noise when i m on the gas. I thought it was the TPS, so I sat one night and played around with adjusting it over and over again and no changes.

It only happens when I m on the gas, either cruising or accelerating. The minute I m off the gas, it stops. This is why I thought it was the TPS.

I NEED HELP. MAKE THE TICKING NOISE GO AWAY! You have no idea how f***ing annoying it is. It is driving me and anyone who rides with me absolutly nuts!!

Thanks

What makes me think it's the injectors is because the problem wasn't there before the intake manifold swap, but is there after. Injectors can be very easily damaged. When they are starting to go out they will tick.

get a rubber tube and listen to the injectors while you tickle the trottle cable

i know but i was just throwing out another suggestion. granted it happened with the swap but valves tapping can happen at any time. if it wasn't the injectors i would check the valves next. good info for him though.

well thanks for the info. I m going to take a look at it this weekend.

About the injectors- When I swapped out manifold, I put my stockers one the"new" intake manifold because the other manifold was stripped.

But either way, i m going to do some inverstigating this weekend to try and narrow down what the issue. If its the injectors, then I have to go find some other ones
