Default 93 Si auto trans problems

I have a 93' Prelude si auto matic to drivecuzmy civic is getting to the point that its rough to drive on the roads. I notice once it got a little cooler out (PA) it wouldn't engage d3 or d4 until either it warmed up or if u stopped and put in park and back into d4, then it would be fine. Our first cold cold day (30 degrees) I noticed the damn thing was making a grinding noise every time I let off the gas in D4. The fluid was fine and it gradually got worse until D4 completly went out then reverse started not engaging. Now I have no D4 but I can get reverse, Its hard to drive in D3 because ofthe gearing (you will be tachen 5grand@ 60mph).
could this have something to do w/ the tcm (tran, control, module) or a servo. Someone said to me that their accord did the same thing and it was a burnt resistor in the TCM. if anyone got any info please let me know. I've been drivin my civic and since my dads Vigor bent the valves and we are replacing the motor my mom has to ride in my civic and its too rough on her cause my dads using her accord to commute to work. help me PLEASE!

how many miles on it i may be interested in that, I was thinking about converting it to a 5-speed. I got the pedal cluster and the hydrolines, master and slave, no 5-speed though. The motor in it burns oil like crazy I got another motos w/102,000 and I'm probably gonna change every thing at once. I toss the idea around with my dad and let you know, knowing him he'll want. I'll get back to you on htat thanks buddy

Is swapping to a manual transmission out of the question? If so, be sure to check eBay and Craigslist.
