i mean you could use a dx harnes but....... why would you want to lol. use the si harness so you'll be good to go for a mpfi engine. be it the stock d16a6 or somethin else.

no you couldn't. the dx is dpfi and the si is mpfi. there is a difference in the body harness.

no *hit there is sherlock. if you take notice he said there is not a harness in the car, be it engine or cabin. i was only saying that if he felt inclinded do so he could use a dx harness, as in the the complete engine and cabin harness. Of course this would not be adviseable because who wants to run dpfi, or have to convert to mpfi later down the line. Of course i was only giving him options, not questioning his motives. 90-91 Si engine/cabin harness is the way to go.

If you read what he said you would have made a note that there is no harness in the car. no harness means no shock tower plugs. an Si harness won't do him any good either if there is no cabin harness to connect it to

theres no need to go obd1 unless u want to tune something, thats why obd1 is better but in his case, im assuming, he just needs a DD so get your self the complete harness out of 90-91 civic si

wow, you really got your butt hurt over that didn't you. now if you would take notice, no where did he state that the entire harness from the car was missing. only the harness from the dash to the engine bay. i assumed he had the engine harness, maybe the wrong assumption to make, but i was going only by what was in the original post.

By saying he bought a shell and no harness "from dash to enginebay" leads me to believe there is nothing in the car. you generally don't find engine harnesses still attached to shells without an engine..

He wouldn't be converting a mpfi car to dpfi. It's nothing at this point, the wiring is entirely absent. It is not up to me to figure out his motives. i'm simply giving him options and some are better than others. for example perhaps he has a complete dx harness which would cost him next to nothing to use, and be cheaper than sourcing out an Si harness. I mean i've seen people do weirder things. i don't recommend using the dx harness but its not like it wouldn't work.

You would use the 90-91 harness still. You would need an obd1 distributor, 4 wire o2 sensor and ECU. Get a jumper harness to convert (at the ECU) from obd0-obd1. Wire in the o2 sensor and dist and BAAM....OBD1.
