all motor H22a parts???
just curious im getting a h22a motor, is this motor anygood to build N/A? what parts are gettting the most bang for the buck? for now ill just be starting with basic blot ons and head work type of stuff
thanks
thanks
basic bolt-ons, mild head work and it's h22a all the way.
anything internal with a budget in mind and it's a b series motor.
especially in a civic.
all motor b series motors have been running circles around h22a's in civics.
example. a friend is running b20vtec in a 92cx hatch. the motor cost him $4200 with the buildup. has endyn pistons, ctr cams. he runs 12.6@108mph on slicks. but get this the 60foot is a horrible 2.0. the cx shell also has power windows and door locks so it's not a gutted hatch. comptech exhaust, jdm4-1itrheader, underhoodintake.

ya but if your turely building something forget about a budget, do the same work to the h22 as to that b20 and see what time you run. and its no frankeinstine engine so it should be more reliable if built right
i was thinking a mild cam, valve train, and some minor head work with upgraded ecu and bolt ons, what is a good set of cams for the h22? i was thinking skunk or crower? what can these motors rev to safely?
both cams are good.
and h22a owns all the way down the straight line than a B series, although, the best B series would be B20/Vtec with either b16 or itr head
that's the best stock B series to build, but H22A all the way is a beast -- yes in a civic

on a built motor, I wouldn't go above 9k, unless you do rockers too.
Stock bottom end should handle... what... 8k? You guys think?
I don't really keep up with much as far as stock things.

love the h22a. but i don't know. it doesn't cost much to do a b20vtec motor these days.
for the extra added costs of a mount kit, shift linkage, shifter, axles, etc. that could cover some of the difference for the hybrid motor.
my friend above with the b20vtec ran an h22a hatch at huntspoint in new york (bronx). with just ctr cams he pulled easily on the h22a. the h22a hatch wouldn't believe him that he wasn't juicing. great race.

it should hold 8.5 k with skunk cams and valvetrain right? what is the stock rev limiter?
i dont want to build a motor right now, h22a seems more reliable than a b20

a lot of people are going back to lsvtec's because a lot of guys who are running high compression b20vtec's are starting to egg the cylinders. the b18 block is a little stronger than the b20 and will be able to handle the revs for longer than the b20 will in a high performance setup.
Header: SMSP, Mugen, Greddy... whatever you feel like spending.
Flywheel: I love my Unorthodox Racing 9lb. They only sell the 10lb now though. Fidenza has a good track record too.
Clutch: Clutchmasters is a good street clutch. ACT is a nice track clutch.
I've had both, and liked both.

I don't think that SMSP has actually begun to sell their header... it's still in the planning/R&D phase... If you want one now, people seem to prefer the Greddy header to the DC, though there are many people running the DC header.
Wow two threads same thing. My buddies engine is one badass N/A engine
