Default In car DVD expert opinions needed

I am looking to get a single din in car DVD player with 7" flip out screen. There are 2 units my local dealer has and one on ebay. I have a 3" screen one in my car but it's too small to watch. The 2 at the store are a Kenwood kvt-512, the most expensive, a valor 700W, and on ebay a Pyle. The Pyle and Valor have the most features, but I am more familiar with the Kenwood name. Anyone have any experiences, recomendations, stories, reliability info? Any help would be aewsome.

Well the 3 I have before me are Kenwood, Valor, and Pyle. How good are the Valor and Pyle units? I assume the Kenwood is awesome, but it's going into a car that will be kept a long time but gets little use.

Of the 3 get the Kenwood, stay away from the Pyle and the Valor, and do not get your unit from a vendor on eBay, whatever you end up getting, get it from an authorized dealer, local retailer is best but authorized online dealers are OK also.
Although maybe out of your price range, the Alpine IVA-D106...
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=IVA-D106 is a very good unit, you may still be able to get an earlier model at a blow-out price at your local Alpine dealer.94

Definetly wouldn't go with pyle (big piece of ****). Valor isnt that bad. I have one, and i am somewhat happy with it. It has awesome features that are built in unlike the better brands that you have to buy seperate parts. Like bluetooth, ipod cable, satellite cable, sd card, and more. But i have had to send it back twice within a year. And kenwood is of course your better brand but it dont like there flip outs. If you can go with a double din, i would highly suggest that.

I have a double din kenwood dvd player. I would stay away from flipouts. I've seen to many motors go bad on flipout radios. Double din looks alot cleaner in the dash to.

I've had a couple of the valor units...they each lasted for about 2 years (not the dvd player's fault either time), i think i got it for around 300 (i had a wholesale discount). i've also delt a lot with the kenwood player from installs. Every install i did with it worked perfectly for about 3 years, then the screen motor would go out almost on the 3 year mark each time. Stay away from the Pyle of ****, you will hate yourself for wasting the cash on it.

Hope that helps you some...

I ended up getting a Kenwood unit. It was like 50% off retail, so about $350 I figured I'd get a top of the line unit. Mainly because the screen is adjustable, and I am more confident it will clear the dash opening. I know it doesn't have all the included bells and whistles of the Valor, but it has what I need.I can't remember the model number, maybe KVT512? I also just got my wife a Jensen VM9022 double din dvd/cd with bluetooth for her Odyssey for Christmas.

the kvt512 is not a bad unit actually.
there is plenty you can do with it with the proper accessories.
