09 Civic Si Sedan or Coupe
Simple question. What would you get, the Si Sedan or Coupe? I have to choose by Monday, and I can't seem to make up my mind. Your thoughts and experience in comparing the two would be much appreciated.
Do you have a lot of friends/family that ride with you frequently? If yes get the sedan. If not get which you think looks better.
I personally didn't even consider the coupe. The sedan is more functional and IMO is the better choice.
What colors are you considering? Good luck and enjoy your new Si!

I guess I'll go with the Sedan, because I do end up driving people around. I've been looking at the pic thread, and I like what I see when it comes to the JDM Conversions for the Sedans. When it comes to colors I was originally gonna go with Dyno blue pearl, but taking a closer look it doesn't come close to the Fiji Blue pearl I remember seeing on the Mugen. Now I'm thinking about alabaster silver or dark metallic silver. My friend says you need to baby your car if it's black, and I don't really care for red and orange.

I do not know about the new black, but NBP was a PITA to keep clean. I'd wash it, dry it off, and before I could even throw a coat of wax on it it was already dirty.
For me, a sedan was out of the question. Fiji Blue Pearl Coupe. As close to a modern EM1 that you can get.

OP- All in all, get the car that you want. Unless you have an immediate family (i.e.-wife and children), don't take anyone else's comfort into consideration. If you have kids to haul around, then the sedan MIGHT be better for you. I have a coupe, and I have no problem hauling my neice and nephew around all of the time. Also, the coupe doesn't give up too much space in the trunk. I won't give you any of my personal opinion, because my opinion shouldn't effect your decision.

My logic at the time of purchase was: Hey, it's going to be only me in the car. Why do I need a 4 door?
Now: A 4 door is more practical and functional. It's my DD and besides, I'm getting old. I just want a reliable car.
Thoughts: Crap. Should have bought a 4-door. But, eh... Life goes on.

The coupe isn't ugly.....neither is the Sedan. I'm willing to bet that most people that bought the Sedan would have just bought the coupe instead if Honda had never decided to develop the sedan version. Obviously they did it for functionality purposes. Either that or most people just bought the Sedan because it's different. The Si is a sports coupe/sedan. How many people buy an Si sedan and frequently haul around a full family of four on a regular basis??

I have had a couple of cars with 2 doors and it sucks. The 4 door is almost identical in every performance test, and can easily seat 4 adults.
Its a pain in the *** getting in the back of the coupe, especially when you're drunk. My roommate picked me up from the bars a few times in his Si coupe and I'd always try to call shotgun as soon as we saw him coming.
Aside from the 100 LB disadvantage I say the sedan. It has a longer wheel base therefore will handle better and the vehicle has a better weight distribution. JDM appearance and performance parts will fit better and leaves the option of doing a CDM/JDM conversion.

also for a sedan ...if after you have beaten the **** out of it it will still have a better resale value as compared to a coupe...will be pretty fast to sell......I think this is the biggest advantage of all....

RICO that's why I said which you think looks better. I like the Si coupe, especially that blacked out beauty. I do personally like the sedan better though.
The performance comparisons between the two are virtually identical. And since the extra two doors would hardly ever be opened......then it makes no sense for me to get one. Opening the trunk would be just as easy as opening the rear doors. They both look good to me anyway.
Someone made a comment about not finding JDM parts for the coupe. Who gives a rats ***?? You could dress up a sedan inside and out and spend thousands of dollars just to make it look just like its Japanese counterpart......but in the end it's still a U.S.-spec Si sedan with a nice boob job and botox.
I know....functionality-wise the sedan IS a better choice. But for me the functionality just doesn't come into play. I don't haul around an entire family or carpool for people. I use my WIFE'S four-door car to do the grocery shopping and running the usual errands as well as taking the family out occasionally (which is not very often at all).

2% is a small figure, but when you multiply .02 by the weight this translates into a large enough number to look at. Do you know how many car manufacturers that would like to improve their weight distributuion by 2%? Im sure it's a lot.
If I could have gotten the look of the sedan rear end on the coupe I would have bought a coupe. I loved the 96-00 coupe over the sedan because of the relatively flat rear end. I hate the 92-95 sedan with a passion because of the rear end.

LOL. The rear end is the main reason I don't like the sedan...as much as I like the coupe.
