Default vavle lash question on f22b1

ok well i did a valve lash a while ago on my f22b1 block with a f23a1 head and it runs better but while doing it i was thinking about the operation of the rocker arms and head more in depth and was thinking instead of gaping them what if you didn't the extra strock of the rockers would carry into the valve and open it more and as the motor heated up to would metal would contract leaving a little gap but nothing near the .08 or .012 that it is spec to. do you think this will add any more flow to the head??? and power gain??? or hurt it???

and i was looking into building the f23a1 head and noticed that the f22b1 rocker are different part numbers than the f23 ones what are the differances in the two would this allow more of a opening to the valve if they are different in the angle or depth that they move??? kind like a larger lobed cam??

and i know the valves are the same in diameter but they still have different part numbers on them so that would mean the differance would have to be in length right?

i am just tring to see if you can make a mismatched head with oem parts that could out flow the stock head on the low low.lol. i know someone has had to have torn down the two heads and compared parts to see the differances. i know the cams aren't interchangeable but every one says that the two heads are basicly the same but after looking into it more i have found out they are different part numbers and i am tring to find out the actual differances other than the f23 head has 2mm larger ports

If I understand you correctly......

yes, tightening up the valve lash does have the same effect as running a slightly bigger cam. Domestic guys have been doing this for years to dial in the absolute max HP on a set up. I view this as last thing to do to get 1 or 2 hp more out of a setup, not something that would gain you very much. The cost is additional wear. You also need to not go crazy with it because once the motor is hot and the parts expand, you run the risk of the valve not closing completely.

No idea what the answer is on the rockers. I would absolutely clay anything I did like that before I cranked it over.
