HELP painting ebp question electronic blue pearl
i finally found a used em1 lip for my ebp si . now my question is it is chipped up ...now in order for it to match do i need to use a white base or white primer to get the right color . ive seen a lot of people with cars they claim are ebp but they look really dark so would a white base give me the matching color ? thanks
most the time its usually just a crappy paint with a crappy matching quality that causes the horrible resemblance to ebp. If you opt for a higher end paint, your most likely going to get a better quality pigment mix and your color will be alot closer to your desired one. Spraying over different colored sealers is what usually cause slight variations, i personally never spray basecoat directly over primer, just not something i do. Depending on the value color shade that was used on the car originally is what should determine what sealer you should use. You can always go to paint shop and have them run your vin number. They can tell you what value shade sealer was used and what paint formula would be the best to use on your specific vehicle for the best match.

yep, thats for sure. ive seen some honda color have upwards of 8 different formulas. its crazy how many different mixtures can be made up over the years by the factory. I swear sometimes they just use whatever they have left to make the paint for the cars , haha.
