I would say the bolt that goes from the tranny into the motor, pull one out where ever this ground wire large round terminal will reach and put the bolt through it and rescrew it though the tranny bell housing back into the motor.

The ground from the tranny to the body is sometimes called a bonding wire, you can install one anywhere you wish from the tranny to the body.

Theoretically, the engine and transmission are isolated from the rest of the chassis and body and electrical system because they are mounted to the car with engine mounts and transmission mount that are made of rubber so the engine and tranny are insulated from the electrical system and require a ground wire to tie (or bond) the engine and tranny to the electrical system. Another purpose of the bonding wire is to dissipate static electricity in an attempt to lessen corrosion due to electrolysis due to the motion of fluids inside the engine and tranny, the same goes for the cooling system.

I can understand that the bonding wire is missing but the ground wire that gets bolted onto the bell housing, so you are saying you cannot find one, its been cut, its not there at all. Forget about looking for these things, make your own bonding wires, thats it.

Unless you know where the ground wire to the bell housing is supposed to go or where is it coming from, what is it grounding, a little more help please.
