Default URGENT: DPFI TO MPFI CONVERSION

okay so im doing a b20b swap on my 91 crx dx and it is required to do a conversion from dpfi to mpfi. And also i wanted to convert from a obd0 to obd1 while im at it. In order to do that i bought myself an OBD1 LS ECU AND OBD1 LS Distributor along with rywire "OBD0 to OBD1 ECU conversion harness" Here is the link to it: http://rywire.com/store/obd0-obd1-co...472820f2e257ae
And so now im trying to get the conversion from dpfi to mpfi and dont know if the obd0 to obd1 ecu conversion harness will work with the conversion of the dpfi to mpfi. can somone please help me because i dont want to buy things i dont need. thanks.

im not 100% sure if it will or not with Rywires products... I would assume that it would work, but your best bet would just be to call Peter at rywire and explain to him what you have and what you are trying to do and he will get you the stuff you need... very nice guy

all the components you have will work together with the mpfi conversion. the wires that you change for mpfi are the stock ecu harness wires. you don't splice them into the jumper or anything like that.

know where i can get the conversion from dpfi to mpfi with obd1 at? So u are sayin that the parts that i ordered is a necessity right not something that is extra. By the way do they have a deal that comes with obd0 to obd1 conversion along with a dpfi to mpfi in the same package for a b20b swap?

dpfi to mpfi is pretty much just adding two more injectors, dont worry about what you bought from rywire it'll have no effect on the mpfi swap. what you need to do is find an 88-91 si harness so u can do the dpfi to mpfi swap

This is what your looking for here.

http://rywire.com/store/8891-crxcivi...74203488ed48b5

You have to send them your stock harness, and then the harness from an obd1 b18a. i realize you have a b20b, but the converted harness is not only useable on a b18a. It is for any obd1 non-vtec dohc engine (i.e. b20z, b18b1, etc).

ninja-edit: he won't need the si harness if he has his harness converted using the one from the b18a. it'll have all the plugs he needs, and he won't even need the resistor box.

So do i still need the obd1-obd2 ecu conversion harness to begin with?

no, you dont. you're going to run the b20 exactly as if it were an obd1 b18a1.

You will need to use the rywire jumper harness for the ecu...

But like what was stated before, the mpfi swap is basically adding 2 more injectors. There is a write up on angel fire that tells you everything needed.

Or you can buy a pre made dpfi-mpfi/obd0-obd1 engine harness from a guy on ebay named monotech909 or from nigaphan. Both make great products and are very reliable. Im running a nigaphan engine harness in my '89 crx dx w/jdm d15b vtec. Only paid $130

I did check out the guy monotech on ebay for teh harness and he told me he will charge me $200 for the conversion harness if i already got a ecu harness and it will be 270 without. But still 200 is alot for that one wire and im trying to find an alternative way to get a bit cheaper.

You cannot just use a '88-'91 si harness with your dx dash harness. You would have to use the si harness along with your stock dx harness and make one up using the two.

Going obd1 will not require the use of a resistor box so you would have to think about that when wiring the harnesses together.

Get ahold of nigaphan on ebay and see what he can do for you. The guy is smart and knows his stuff.

i own a 90 dx, they are dual point so i did a dpfi to mpfi conversion. that was easy, going obd1 was even easier. obd0-obd1 conversion harness, obd1 z6 dizzy(u dont need), p28 ecu, 4 wire o2 sensor, and if u want to run vtec u will need some extra wires run into the engine bay. my friend lent me his si wiring harness, ppl are stating that above because u need the injector wires, and 3 or 4 other wires for the mpfi to work right. if u read the faq theres a thread for this and its pretty simple

I actually paid $110 cause i got $20 off for giving dude an extra dx harness when i picked it up. but i basically got the whole obd0-obd1 engine harness plus the distributor adapters from him.

I got the ecu jumper and vtec sub harness along with the 4 wire o2 sensor wiring from rywire

hehe where at and how much.

Btw nigaphan is a rip off he told me if i want a obd0-obd1 dpfi to mpfi it will cost $80 with an additional price of $140 for the mpfi harness where as monotech offers $200 total with harness and the obd1 option.
