Hey guys,

I just bought a EK9 SRS steering wheel, but the punk on Ebay neglected to say that the adhesive (at the 9 and 3 o clock position, just right above those two spokes, if you were to hold the wheel at those positions, its where your thumbs would end up) was coming apart. I don't have any pictures and its hard to visualize what I'm saying, but anyway, I was wondering if you guys know any places that can recondition the steering wheel, or at least fix this somewhat. I was thinking of supergluing it back together, but I rather not ruin the wheel or mess it up any further. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

 

Sorry man but from what youre decribing, i think youre SOL from what ive heard. Pics would be nice to see what the extent of the damage is

 

theres this one place up in san francisco on GEARY and masonic, they do reapolstry, they might do it iv seen them with lots of classsic cars an exotics, they did the rear trunk of my cuzins lude, was nice

 

actually, I didn't even notice it until my sister pointed it out to me. Its very minor, its not like the wheel is not usable, and it looks good minus those two spots, its just if you SEE IT, it looks annoying. I'll try and get pics up tom and see what other suggestions I get, thanks so far.

 

I need ideas on how I should fix this...lol...anymore suggestions?

 

start by leaving him negative feedback. i hate people like that and if its mess up on the stiching part id bring it to a place that sows and see if they can get it fixed or an upustery place

 

well yea its not on the stitching portion of the wheel, its at the part where its usually glued. Yea im pretty disappointed right now.

 

I know what you are talking about. I've seen it on these wheels before. Gorilla glue perhaps.

Iono, I don't think I'm being out of line, I mean those two defects should have been mentioned, he took pics of it at a straight up 90 angle, so there was no way I could have seen those two defects on the wheel...thats shady selling practices...I hate ppl like that >]

 

Make A claim... might get your money back and keep the wheel

Honestly, I don't MIND keeping it, it is overall a clean wheel minus those two problem areas...its just its not kewl when ppl do that kinda biz if you know what I mean. Just be honest, right? At this point, I'm kewl with keeping the wheel, I was just more curious about what kind of adhesive I should use to glue the left part back, I got gorilla as a brand. The other issue is, if you look at the pic, its missing a chunk on the right spoke, what can I use to fill that in?

if its worn down then your SOL

if its peeling, you may be able to glue it, but what are u talking about exactly.
