Default dizzy problems??

I changed out my td84u dizzy tonight and now it won't start. All plug wires are in the right place, and I have spark. The reason I was changing it was my tach was not working other then that my other one was fine. I put on the old one again that was working when it came off and nothing either. I have fuel I just hope something easy I am overlooking>>.

What would make you think the dizzy was causing the tach not to work? Did you mark the place the dizzy was before you took it off? You do know that the dizzy positioning affects your timing, right? And that if its not in the right place, the ignition timing will be too out of time to start.

I beleive it is the dizzy causing my tach cause I changed cluster, alternator, battery.
so I did mark my dizzy taking it off. could there be any sensor I bumped or wire maybe on that bottom bolt???? I am getting new spark plugs cause they were a little questionable..

chances are you have the distributor drive turned 180 degrees, it will fit both ways but is only slightly offset from center and difficult to see. Remove the valve cover, check #1 cyl is at tdc on the firing stroke (both rockers loose) and then make sure the rotor is pointing to plug one wire, then counting clockwise ensure the firing order is 1342.
#1 cyl is closest to the crank pulley end of the engine.
