Sick of breathing fumes...
well, thanks for the advice on the muffler guys, now i'll throw this question out there.
When my friend first brought home this accord,
YEAR: 1989
MODEL: LXI
FUEL INJECTED
FWD
AUTOMATIC
2.0L
he accidentally left the gas cap on top of the pump since he didn't have a license and wasn't used to doing simple things like putting gas in a car.
I've so far purchased 3 different gas caps, one threaded one from walmart (which i quickly figured out it takes a non-threaded gascap), one non-threaded from autozone, and one non-threaded from advanced auto.
The closest i've come to success is the nonthreaded from autozone, but was so hard to open/close that i had to return it because it hurt my hand & i was afraid i'd one day get it stuck there.
Has anyone had this much trouble coming up with a replacement gas cap for this model or a similar model accord? what do i do about this? I've looked it up several times in the walmart book and auto-store computers and they all say i'm buying the proper cap, which is ridiculous because they all sell me completely different gascaps.

I'd have your late "friend" truddle over to the local Honda emporium (Manchester Honda for one) and fork out the $$ for an OEM one and quite playing around with DeathZone Autoparts knock-offs.
