Default gsr swap running poorly - No CEL's

The latest issue with my gsr swap is that now when the idle is brought up to about 2 grand it bogs down and sometimes just cuts out, driving or idling in place. I replaced the harness, plugs, wires, water pump, timing belt and took it to a shop to have them double check all my work. They checked timing and looked everything over and could not figure out the problem. They said it might be wiring, but this is the second harness I have used and have gotten the exact same issue. I also checked the interior harness and tried the stock EX civic ECU in case the GSR ECU was bad. I also pulled the dizzy cap off and cleaned up the points and checked the rotor. I also double checked the fuel line and regulator to make sure they are working right. I'm not throwing any CEL's, I'm not getting any kind of smoke out the back, no leaking injectors. I'm at the end of my rope, I have no idea where to go from here. If anybody has any ideas or if they live in the front royal area and want to take a look in person, whatever, LMK. Thanks

Good point, I forgot to mention that. I checked all vacuum lines, intake, brake booster, etc. I also checked to make sure anything vacuum driven was working. Basically while the car is idling I would unplug a vacuum line to make sure it was pulling air properly and listen for a change in idle when unplugged.

sounds like you would check everything that would cause a shitty running motor.
check your grounds and your fuel filter

Ya, I belive there is the ground to the top of the tranny, right next to the coolant temp sensor and valve cover. If I missed one let me know. If the map was blown or cutting out at a certain RPM, would'nt that throw a CEL light?

Oh ya and the fuel filter is about 3 years old/30k miles. I pulled the fuel line off the filter and the regulator to make sure the pin holes are lined up properly and it was flowing gas like crazy. I know this does not really prove that it's not clogged alittle but I think it's new enough that it should work fine. If I'm wrong, LMK, I can always pick up a new one.

I checked all the wiring and also completely replaced the engine harness, both were stock EX harnesses modified to fit a gsr engine and the car itself is an EX coupe so the VTEC wiring from shock tower in is all there stock. Also before I swapped in the GSR, the stock EX motor was running perfectly.

When it's completely cold it bogs down at 3 grand and once warmed up it bogs at 2 grand +/- 200 RPM. I don't believe I can get the RPM high enough to see if VTEC is kicking in, if that's what your asking. If there is another test I should try to test VTEC, LMK, Thanks

Map sensor could be gone. Swap it out and see if that solves the problem.

check your tps my friend had a similar problem and the problem was that the tps was telling the ecu that the throttle wasnt open so it wasn't getting enough fuel since the throttle was open!

That's two for map sensor, so I guess I should try to replace.Hahaha, I will let you know how it goes. If that does not do it I will start looking at the TPS. But if either one of these sensors were bad or failing, would'nt it throw a CEL?

I will pick up a TPS and check the condition of the temp sensor in the head in the morning. One quick question about the TPS, I heard you can cut slots on top of the rivets and unscrew the two rivets out. I'm not trying to replace the whole throttle body if I don't have to. Does this sound right?

yea it could be the tps. Do you have a A/F Gauge on there? Because if the TPS is bad it should make the car run lean no? I mean im going to rule out IAT or O2 as ur not throwing any CEL's. So its possible it could be TPS. U might also want to check the PCV valve as that can cause lots of problems too, and it wont throw a CEL.

TPS may be the issue if you have ruled everything else out.
