Default Smaller brake booster than 7" HF?

Does anyone know if there are brake boosters out there in the aftermarket world that would take up less space than the 7" HF brake booster? I need more space in my engine bay..

sounds like a plan! all I have to do is remove the booster and the MC would mount to the same spot? or is there some sort of a bracket made for going booster less?

going booster less = more brake pedal effort?

youd have to make a bracket or plate of some sort.

and of course, itll take more effort. but you can get used to it like you can get used to a stiffer clutch or no power steering.

there is a company I think called kens custom chassis that makes the block off and it comes with a new willwood master. Look in the JRSC thread in the forced induction forum. It's needed to put the jrsc on a da. Road racers use it too.

I'd imagine it's like no power steering but for the brake pedal, it'll feel stiff as hell. kind of like a suburban's brake pedal while the engine is off.

yea, i'm way too lazy to make that plate/bracket. that price aint too bad. Thanks jimmy!

what do ya say tyson? bearable/safe for a DD?

Is there a way to disable the brake booster? Allowing me to get firsthand experience of what it would be like to drive around without one?

Yeah no booster is a stiff pedal. It may sound difficult to imagine and control but you will get the hang of it. If you do decide to go booster less. Just get some practice in so you get an idea of how to brake at slow stops and fast stops.

Plug the hose and drive around and see how it feels. I might do this.

Cool I figured it'd be removing the vac line + plug.

The pedal will be stiffer than what it'll feel like with that kit, since they use a 3/4 MC. Got a big ol' 15/16 on the car - which I have an extra F/S.

Gotta beef up those calves

even if you plug the booster it will be much more effort than with no booster. With the booster plugged there is a lot of effort needed to move the diaphram in the booster. It will be much softer with no booster at all

Really? why did we need booster anyway, if it more softer? Everytime I bench press the master cylinder, it feels soft, so how come we need a booster.

It was the only 'luxury' item Honda could offer us in an EF.

Another picture I've found. Looks like this plate is easily made. Only thing I need to see is how to make some kind of shaft for the master cylinder shaft since our doesn't have the thread to screw on.

For those interested, Rota92 has the Kens Kustom setup that he is going to be selling soon. I talked to him about buying it a few weeks ago.
