Why would you have to sleeve it? its a stock motor with the the same bore pistons.... Unless it has over sized rings for some reason you are fine.

IF THE PISTONS ARE FORGED YOU MUST SLEEVE THE BLOCK!!
the h22(and all other H-series motors and i believe most F-series) has FRM sleeves, forged pistons will ruin your block, you must sleeve the block to use forged pistons

EDIT: FRM is fiber reinforced metal, (if im not mistaken) it is not compatable with forged pistons, only pistons made specifically for the h22 can be used, if you plan to turbo you need to sleeve it there are no other options

The H22A, H22A1, H22A4 & H23A1 all have Fiber Reinforced Metal (FRM) sleeves, 1992 & Up. And a note reference the F series engines. The S2K F20C and F22C1 engines are the only F's that use FRM sleeves. The rest of the F series have ductile iron sleeves.

to be honest with you, if you want a seriously boosted application, go ahead and sleeve your block, it will strengthen the motor, and add you to add quite a bit more boost than your regular block would allow, it is pricey, but it pays off in the long run.

correct me if im wrong, but the f20c/f22c1 both have forged internals do they not?, i thought those two were the ones that were not frm sleeved, and the other f series are frm sleeved

F22A1-6 and F22b1-2 are all ductile iron sleeved. I have no idea if the F20C & F22C1 have forged internals or not. I do know they have FRM sleeves though.

The S2K Shop manual shows the honing process and states at the top,

The cylinder liners are made with FRM (Fiber Reinforced Metal). Hone the cylinders only as described here.
