Default Differences of the Skunk2 exhausts?

i'm planning on getting a skunk2 catback because i liked how it sounded on my old civic. but now since i'm driving a 00 gsr, i'm thinking about whether or now i should go for the megapower R version. and my car is running stock with a short ram intake. On the description of the R version, it says that it's made for highly modified or turbo'd cars, but i saw the company videotape an si on the dyno with the megapower R version gaining a little over 5 hp. i don't really plan on adding any other parts to my car for now, so i was wondering which catback you guys think i should buy? the megapower, or megapower R, or possibly even the megapower RR version? thanks in advance!

This is what I have noticed on the megapower series:

Regular Megapower - 60mm (2.34 inch) piping
R - 70 mm (2.73 inch) piping
RR - 76 mm (2.96 inch) piping

For your appliation I would recommend just the regular megapower. If you had real plans of including a turbo/supercharger, or maybe an extremely built B series I would recommend the R or RR. Too big of piping makes no sense, and some say you will actually lose power going too big (comparing the regular megapower to the RR lets say) on stock cars with very basic mods. Also usually the bigger piping exhausts tend to have more of a hollow sound. I ordered the RR yesterday for my K20 hatch, because of the fact that I am using a lightly built head and running Hondata. When I get it installed I will check back to let you know anything I notice (fittment, quality, sound, etc.).

that's what i was thinking too. so then, in that video clip with the si, the car would have had higher gains if the regular megapower was installed rather than the r version? i was also thinking, since i'm already planning on getting a skunk2 exhaust, mind as well start thinking about getting the skunk2 headers that are supposed to come out too.

let me know how it goes when you get your catback!

I have the regular megapower on my gsr and it is really loud, but if that's what your going for then it should work. I'm just running bolt ons as well.
