What do I need to run crome in my R
Ok so im new to the whole tuning thing im ready to build and heard that crome is the easiest to tune can anyone tell me everything i would need and what crome actually is is it more of a standalone that a piggyback anyone running crome in you R what do you need what will you have to do to pass emmissions i heard its only on obd1 so you would have to jump obd2 to obd1 please help thanks
Piggy Back: Maintains stock ECU operation.
Stand Alone: Replaces stock ECU completely.
CROME is neither, it maniupulates and replaces certain functions that the stock ECU usually controls. All you'll need is OBDIIb-OBDI conversion harness, I'd recommend Boomslang.
Don't just throw a basemap in there and call it a day. Spend some money, and get it dyno tuned properly.

Ok but for the chip should I go to phearable.net and just get a custom tune for my setup take apart the ecu and just throw the chip in is there anything else to put in when I rear more and more about it it says other stuff and also what do I need to tune using crome the software is free but 150 to upgrade what else is needed I know I need a wideband to be safe
I would recomend a different jumper than Boomslang, its a nice jumper but the wires are flimsy...there was another company out there that had somthing around the plugs to keep them from getting that way...thats just my opinion
You can't. You will fail emissions testing if you convert your ECU to OBD-I. This is the same for Hondata, crome, etc. They will all fail.
The boomslang harness is by far one of the best conversion harnesses out there, i have personally never seen one fail and I have been carrying their products for 3 years now.
All you need is a conversion harness and a chipped OBD1 P28 ecu and you are set, I can get you setup with this is you need it.
Then get in contact with your nearest tuner and ask them what they tune with. I would recommend going with NepTune as it is a great software for the money.
And to pass inspection. Just pop in the stock OBD2 ecu and take it to get emissions tested. After you are done with inspection, just put the OBD1 stuff back in it.

I'm actually running the crome itr map that phearable.net has for download on my car right now and its worked out great for me. I just made a few slight things by adding options like a shift light, launch control, lowered the vtec crossover, and turned the o2 sensor off cause I run a wideband. As I said the car has ran great on this map. This being on my chipped p30 ecu.
As everyone has said your going to need a obd1 ecu (p28's being the most commonly used) and a obd2-obd1 jumper harness. Also your going to need to have the ecu socketed for a chip if it already hasn't had that done. I personally think crome is a great ems to use if your on a budget. If you have the money go with neptune though. Also as everyone has said for emissions you just need to swap in your stock ecu. If you havnt changed anything major on your engine it should pass fine with switching between the two ecus for emissions.

yup you will but keep your stock ecu just for this. pop off the jumper harness and go to emissions quickly. I put my stock ecu in and it took about 30 mins before the CEL come on, so i'm sure i would have passed (if that only check to if a CEL is present). I am running both o2 sensors and a cat tho.
ya i heard crome was a good program to run but has anyone really got into tuning with it ya i will be running a fully built motor with test pipe so to pass im thinking in gonna need to put the stock injectors in and a cat which blows but what are you gonna do ... will it hurt my motor to run with my stock p73 or run like ****??????
