I'd only buy Koni dampers from two distributors, and Chris Shenefield is one of them.

DAMN $148 each?? That's nearly $600 for a set of 4 Koni shocks! You can find them for $500 or sometimes around $475 if you're lucky.

1. Price isn't everything, especially when you're buying from the masterminds behind SCCA national championship-winning Civics. Being able to pick Shenefield's brain on setups is reason enough to spend the extra loot. Add on his unbeatable customer service and support, and well you get the idea . . .

For the exact same reasons, I would buy from Sam Strano's Stranoparts as well even if the price was a bit higher than what you could find in some dusty corner of the internet. Support local dealers who will support you, not eBay heroes who won't be in business a month from now.

I paid roughly $600/set when I bought my 8041-Sports from Ground Control in early 2004. Yes, I could have gotten them cheaper elsewhere; I decided to support GC as a thanks for their help and advice instead.

2. Don't necessarily go by what is advertised on the web site. Give Chris a call before you write him off.
