...'Cause I'm envious.
My biggest concern this weekend is mechanical reliability and points toward a class championship. It is very unlikely that I'll be surprised by anyone in my class on the same second, and I'll probably wind up in the middle of nowhere lapping without any primal drives in high gear.
Meanwhile, across the country, many of the ECHC drivers will be enjoying close racing with their "brethren".
Racing is a tough game. Toughest in some of the most basic ways. You don't always get "good racing". Early this year, in a race where I was on dead tires, I fended off attack for a good 8 laps. For me it was a grueling trial of tactics. For my competitor it was the best race he'd had in all of his years racing.
Racing - that's what alot of the ECHC drivers are getting.
Racing - is not spending 3 days at the track driving around by yourself for a total time amounting to what you get at the average lapping day.
Scott, who's hooked on the GFCP.....and who NEEDS better crack....but who doesn't want to go Spec Miata....or Spec Racer Ford.....or Karting.....or move to the East Coast....GOOD (RACING) LUCK THIS WEEKEND ALL YOU LUCKY PEOPLE!

Thanks Scott... not for being envious, but for supporting us when you don't have to. You're definitely one of the guys I wish could be here racing with us.
And, Thanks for the Luck... I'll need it.

Thanks Scott. We're pretty psyched (obviously) - I can't think of a better group of people to race with.

I agree 100%...
But look on the bright side Scott.
1) You're looking at cleaning up in SCCA RS hands down, in what, your first real season?
2) We live within TWENTY MINUTES of PIR!!!
3) We have the SCCA and ICSCC running events from early March to late October each year...
4) We don't understand sitting in pre-grid in 100% humidity and 95 degree sun.
5) John and Nash and the rest of the Seattle boys are already showing early signs of Road Racing addiction....
****, find a decent ITA car and come run with Group 5...
Greg - who's looking forward to recieving his ECHC t-shirt.

I hate all of you bastards.
I'll never get a chance to race with people who run the same type of cars or are as evenly matched as you people.
I'm just lucky we have a track here at all.

Out of 5 classes, at least 3 are guaranteed to be an absolute hairy assed brawl. All potentially decided on the last lap. A bunch of guys around here really are that close to each other.
So far this year...
H2 - 4 races, 3 winners
H3 - 4 races, 3 winners
H4 - 4 races, 3 winners
H5 - 4 races, 2 winners
Now if somebody could just get up there and shove Jack a little bit...
Scott, who knows we have it good and is really happy.

even though ive never done any type of track days yet and i am scared **** to do door to door racing, i still yearn to participate just because of the community of people that i see on the board. maybe in a few years =]

By the way, this is coming from THE IT spec 95 EX Coupe(H4#13: I am so grateful to Giles for the call I got from him back last August regarding this new series. From the moment I got the call, I knew that this was the series for me to devote my racing season(s) to.
After the first race, I had determined that this was the series for me. I raced in SCCA much of last year and it was a wonderful experience. But I decided after round 1 at CMP that the ECHC is the place for me. Funds allowing, I will only do enough SCCA races to keep my license current.
I don't mean to sound negative towards the SCCA, but my impression for the past 7 years is that they have had a very anti-honda attitude-especially when it comes to those with the VTEC insignia. I won't even get started on how they have thrown me and my ride to the wolves in the various road racing classes.
Enough on that, but the fact that we can run so damn close and competitive on the track, while having so much comeraderie in the pits is just incredible. I can pretty much get along with anyone, but I consider my fellow honda-challengers my best friends on and off the track.

We're glad you decided to join us too! You add a lot to the whole experience.
I'm sorry I can't be down there with you guys for this round. Trust me when I say that I'm doing everything I can to get myself another car and get it ready by the end of this season!
