The Car has More Left in It... How many times has this phrase been posted. Im not ranting, but it just makes me laugh when people say this.. I ran a 10.90@167, but shes got more in it..

DUH.. of course the car has more left in it? As if once we get to a certain number/speed, the world is going to reset and you will no longer try to get your car faster?

My point is, by nature, people are competitive. And in racing, we are constantly trying to go faster.. So why even bother saying theres more left in it? its painfully obvious that your going to try to go faster, and keep on bettering your times... Its not that theres more left in it; its just theres no point in "stopping".. Nobody is satisfied in racing... Mark my words. Nobody lol...

mine has "more in it" because it was on the rev limiter the entire duration of 2nd gear. if it wasnt for that, i wouldnt have thought it had much more in it with out making serious changes lol

not only that, i have been asked 200,000 times "if it has more in it" there has been plenty of times where i have said no...but this time, i feel it does haha

 

i say that about my car because i am taking baby steps. went 10.40 at 147 at 28 psi.that was intentional. i have atleast 7 more psi to throw at it, but i can see what you mean if the car runs an obnoxious mph.

 

haha, holy ******* 167, what were you on 21" slicks or something? put some 26" tires on and lets see some low 9's

 

maybe i shoudlnt have used that example. i am just speaking in generalities.. if a car goes 10.99@128, does it have more in it? maybe, maybe not... but whats the point of saying either... thats not to say nobody is gonna stop trying.. lol.. evolution of the sport will always support that theory..

i just recently made my first hit on my new set-up,it went 330ft and then pushed a head gasket,is it safe to say i got more in it lol
