Default How To Set TPS, And other sensor questions

So I think the last thread i had may have been deleted to do having a vague title, or I just can't find it, so here's a new one.

I installed a new TPS on my car over the weekend, and I am now having a check engine light for it, I have a voltmeter handy, I just need to know which wires to test to check the reading of the sensor. I believe its .5v at closed throttle and i forget full throttle. So if someone could help me there, that'd be awesome.

Also, I didn't mess with the MAP sensor, and I now have a CEL for it as well, would there be a reason for the two to be linked? Or a steady high idle being linked to one of these issues?

Thanks for any help

In case the signature wasn't enough, it's a d16y8, if that matters since I believe all TPS are the same between D/B/F/H

your car wouldnt idle if the map was bad. you prolly have a slight vacuume leak. at closed throttle you should read .5 v and at WOT you should have 4.5. if you read 0 or 5 v you have an open or short in the wiring.

which wires do i measure across? or is it only two wire? I'm somehow thinking it's three wire.

I sprayed starter fluid under the hood and it didn't seem to bog down on anything.
Although I was thinking I may have to adjust the throttle cable and i could have ****ed that up a little causing some of the idle issue

yea you have the connectors swaped around. try and swap them and see if that helps and I will try and get the specs for the tps.
