wrong w/ oil pressure sending unit out of the tee from the block?
i just heard that its really bad to have the oil pressure sending unit just coming off the tee for the oil feed. whats wrong with that, and where else can i tee it off?
The problem is the weight that is now hanging off the stock oil pressure location. People sometimes elect to run a line from the stock location to a T that is mounted on the firewall.

just get the steel t instead of the brass..i am running the steel T and it is holding up fine..i had it on for about 6months now..no problems..
I'd really suggest running a line off the block and having the senders, T and whatnot hanging off something else as support. The chances are slim that it'll break, but you really don't want to lose oil pressure and have a fitting broken off into your block!
main reason is that when you have the weight of the T on the block, w/ all the vibration...it could snap off, hence causing a BIG job to retap the block from that position....

ok, that pic at the link is almost exactly how i have my oil press gauge set up currently, but when i choose to go turbo and replace the T with either a 4 way, or just get rid of the stock oil pressure sensor and use that for the oil feed line, will the 1/8 nylon tubing provide enough flow for the oil feed line? i kno most pple would suggest upgrading to someone else like stainless steel braided, but i just wanna know if the 1/8 tubing will flow enough for the oil feed. thanks

Yes 1/8 will be enough because it's very high pressure...and it's not the fitting they are worried about cracking it's the block.
