I have recently noticed that the carpet on the driver side is saturated with what appear to be water (based on smell). I initially used a hair dryer to "fix" the problem but the saturation has returned.

Has anyone experience this issue. If yes, can you share with me the solution in order for me to get it fixed.

check the evap drain line , that little bastard got me a few times.

 

I would suggest that the windshield may be leaking. If it were the evaporator drain as suggested elsewhere, it would show up at the passanger's feet.
Either have a qualified body shop locate it for you; or train a hose on the windshield and dash dive with a flashlight and see if you can spot it.

The other thing you may want to look at, there are about 2-3 good sized grommet's on the side wall under the dash where wiring harness's go through. If there is a tear of small hole in one of these they can leak water.
