ummmm, they're TOW HOOKS, used to tow a car out of a gravel pit, like when it gets loose and runs off a track. It makes it much quicker and easier on lowered vehicles. TOW HOOKS = towing, not "JDM look"

Mine is on there for these reasons....

1) I don't have any stock tow hooks on my car
2) I don't want my front bumper/lip ripped off when I have to tow my car
3) I race the car, and if it breaks down or I get stuck on a road course, see #2

Personally, I don't think it's really rice (when it's used for a race application). Now, if you want to have one for show/rice, then that's ghey. Also, mine came anodized blue.... so you can see I quickly sanded mine down and repainted it flat black so it's more subtle and doesn't stand out.

 

also, depending where it is placed, may prevent idiots from parking too close and bumping your front end

 

also depending on where it is placed.... you could use a flood jack much easier to use in the front.

 

The point of tow hooks is to tow cars.

You guys are making excuses for them to be useful, to keep them not rice. Im sure the *** clown that tows your car is going to give a **** if you have a tow hook, hes gonna jack it up the same way he does every other car. Why? because he gets paid 6.50 an hour.

You're right, why would they use that big, easy to reach, simple ring to tow the car, when they can try and squeeze their hand through that tiny gap seperating the hot concrete, and the bottom of your car..............
There's only one rule when it comes to 17's, don't buy em!

i personally use them to **********, i just stick my khack in the hole and...
i also recommend using the stock exhaust y0, but my tip is in the way so i can't.

well just to say CDM those super touring cars have custom built transmissions which have a total different gearing setup for optimal accleration on 17 or 19inch rims ..do u have this.. and if u do are u sure rich and if so do u Particupate in BTCC..JGTC...DTM series ..and also they are making a hella of a lot more horsepower than your car.. unless you make 300+hp in that case hmm well I'm blabbing.. You can't compare a BMW or any other super touring car to a Civic. They are bigger cars..ones that are meant to run bigger wheels.

I don't see anything wrong with 17s.

 

In some racing organizations they are mandated to run certain sizes by rules and cannot go any lower.
