Dont cut spring. Buy a set of lowering springs Eibach Tein Hr something along that line. Depending on which one you get the drop will be advertised.

Cutting springs is never recommended, and seldom ends on a good note.
Save up your cash and do it right (and stay with a recognized manufacturer).
The offering on EBay may be enticing, but they are often suspect.

yes, dont cut springs, just save up and get a nice set of springs, and yes be careful if purchasing on ebay, alot of time they have "tein" springs but they are knockoffs...

As stated, you will be best served buying name brand springs from a known reputable retailer. Several manufacurers produce springs with the drop you are looking for. When determining your budget, do not overlook performance dampers and an alignment.

if you have the funds go for coilovers, they are full-adjustable and offer way better handing, but can run you 600-1000.

No offence to people who like full sleeve coil setups but I'm not a big fan of them. I'm a straight adjustable shock/strut with spring combo. Smoothest rides and its awesome for daily driving. One other thing also is weather plays a big role too. Living in MN is not the best choice to have full coils. The coils rings tend to crack over time.

but as to your question about cut springs. Please don't. Just buy a nice set of lowering springs.

Cutting Springs is definately a NO NO! If you look around, you can find a good set of springs for under $200. I am riding on Progress Springs and Tokico HP's, and I love em. My car is a daily driver and I carry around my wife and kid, and no complaints. Smooth ride and good handling. I spent a total of $300 on the entire set up brand new.
