So I was having an erratic idle, so i did some work to my car.
I took off the intake manifold, to replace the intake manifold gasket. Replaced the throttle body gasket, bought a new tps and put that on. Turned the screw down on the FITV, cleaned out the IACV and cleaned the throttle body and intake manifold, then reassembled.

So I no longer have an erratic idle, but I have a steady idle at about 1500 rpms, with the idle screw turned the whole way in. I've sprayed starter fluid around, and it seems to have no affect on things.

I am throwing a CEL and I couldn't get it read because I am running a obd1 ecu in an obd2 car.

It's a 97 civic, with a y8 and a z6 manifold.

Why can't you read the CEL??? All you have to do is jumper the 2-pin connector just like an OBDI car. Check out this link on how to do it...

did you set the tps with a ohms meter?

 

nope, i just screwed it on.

Hmm, looks like codes for MAP sensor and TPS.
I don't know why i'd be getting one for MAP after that, I didn't touch it

 

Check and make sure you have the connectors plugged in to the correct sensor (they can be reversed) TPS will have a RED center wire.

 

yea, i did try to reverse them, and the car ran like dog ****.
