I leave my CRX stored in a location about 4 hours away from me. I occassionally have someone start it (the owner of the garage I keep it in) and after driving it today to get it some fresh air I pop the hood to check things out and I find just a simple piece of black, hard plastic laying on top of the battery. The only identification on this piece was "M9263". The piece of plastic doesn't look damaged or broken off of anything, but I'm unable to find out what exactly it goes to.

Btw, the CRX is an 89 si.

Is it a square looking cover with one side open?

 

could be the battery tray. does it have a dow looking piece on one side?
