I completely disagree with you and am dumbfounded at your recommendation, frankly. The N1 dampers didn't impress me at all. I felt both the compression and the rebound were lacking.
can you please give me more details about "lacking" on bound and rebound?
Koni and Apexi N1 coilovers are two totally different suspensions. They are built for different purposes and I think most of the Honda-Tech members would agree with me the quality of Apexi (those in which are made in Japan) is much far better than that of Koni's.
Koni, in easier sense, is just oversized piston shock of OEM dampers. They will give you the best ride quality on normal roads as well as on track. On the other hand, the Apexi N1's are actual racing dampers the japanese use on N1 serie races. But like I said before, there are like a couple other names after Apexi N1, so I dont know if the person who made this thread is referring to the one I am referring.
Since the two suspensions are built for different purposes, you will definitely have two different pros and cons about them. Especially when you are mostly driving on normal roads, daily driving on them. N1 coilovers will be too harsh for normal roads and you may feel like you are lacking bound/rebound. (but I dont exactly know what you meant by "lacking" so please correct me if I am wrong)
But I am not saying Koni is like complete trash. Koni is probably the best shocks you will get for a very cheap price. Koni/GC combo is always the best bang for the buck.
*** disclaimer *** I have my opinions on the matter too but I obviously am not going to get into that. I just feel like TotalBalance's statement about "quality" needs to be qualified a bit, in the context of this thread, for the benefit of any reaers.

^^ I'm with this guy. Anyone that is talking down about the quality of Koni shocks is a complete moron. I will go out on a limb and say Koni is one of the best suspension companies in the world due to its age and use in many racing series.
That being said, if you are driving your car on the street, why the hell do you need N1 coilovers?

just because they works for one application, it doesn't always transfer to another.
do you research and do couple more
Ok. I guess I'll be the one to actually answer your question. Keep the konis. It's simply not worth the expense to swap out to those N1s.
My roommate, from a few years ago, had some Apexi N1's and one of them started to leak a little bit. He wanted to rebuild all 4 of them, which they don't do in the USA. They had to be shipped to Japan. That was years ago and he still hasn't received them and he can't get anyone of the phone to tell him where they are. They lost them.
You'd think he'd now value domestic customer service after losing over $1,000, but he went out and bought some blown N1's with plans of rebuilding them. He's somewhat of a "JDM only" type of guy, though.

yes and no, koni sure doesn't lack in the quality and customer service department but some of their choices in damper valving is off by a far shot. Need example? s2000 damper curve for out of the box yellow is so weird on stock spring, they are terrible on GC(stock rate)
